Only if you dont understand that the soviet union and the Russian state have polar opposite outlooks on political economy.
We also had a ridiculous amount of tanks next to the Fulda Gap. And we put a lot of nazis who were previously involved in the invasion of the USSR in NATO and west German positions.

Hell, France’s stated doctrine if they did break through was to use tactical nukes on them in West Germany to halt the advance and to avoid turning more of their territory into red zones.
