    Honestly this is the he worst way to make a child stop crying. Threats can cause scars.

      I think the problem isn’t the “threat” but the implied “I couldn’t possibly care less why you’re crying”

        Yes, it’s invalidation of feelings followed by the infliction of physical violence to make the abuser feel better.

          I got hit many times. A few times it was physically a little bit bad, but typically I was more upset that my parents had “turned” on me to the point that they would even want to do such a thing. A lot of it is mentally abusive :(

        I would be traumatised by the threat because during these ages it is hard to take something not literally. But yeah, what you said counts in as well.

      Yeah I wish I had the validity of physical scars, nobody sees the ones words leave.

      Sticks and stones may break my bones, but soon the sting will pass

      But names can dig so many graves, you won’t know where to stand.
