All of them show up on my own, but on other user profiles typically none will show up, or only a couple from a month ago.

I do not. Even posts I haven’t looked at don’t show up.
You have to disable “hide read posts” in the settings on your account.
I don’t have that enabled.
Just to be clear: I’m not talking about eternity settings. I’m talking about a setting you can only change from the web version of your instance. In your case, you have to go to https://lemmy.ml to change the setting.
I do not have that setting enabled and never have.
