This pays the server bill for this site, and any excess is donated to the Lemmy developers as far as i’m aware
To be exact, server infra and a bit of buffer for unexpected costs or scaling
Smart. Far too many forums of old failed to keep a buffer and ended up dying when a temporary cost explosion happened. Thank you for your work o7
I’ve been sailing these choppy waters for a while. I know that funding takes time to ramp up. If you decide to ask for funding once the costs start eating into it, it’s too late.
