I think Jerboa goes in the A tier. Liftoff would be easy S tier if only it had an easier way to view comment context (like Jerboa).

As a jerboa user myself, I’m pretty confident Jerboa is C or D tier at best. It has a very buggy UI, crashes very frequently and is a nightmare to post comments. I’ll hold my beliefs until the devs fix those issues

I only tried the two inside fdroid, jerboa and that other one. On now and it seems fine but i don’t have much to compare it to. Seeing as how this lemmy stuff is new to me and i only tried the two.

Edit: ACd Hernia, changed back to jerboa. Lol hernia

What issue are you having with comment context in Liftoff? Seems to work for me; I get it through Obtanium though so maybe it’s an older version issue for you

This is what i want. I can view comment context with just a click or two but it would be more convenient to just be able to view it from the inbox screen

Ah yeah I see what you mean, I can usually guess what someone’s replying to since I don’t post a huge amount but now that you mention it it really should it directly in the inbox

The other big issue with Liftoff is that you can’t search for communities outside of your own instance without first adding the instance said community is hosted on. Unless someone can correct me on that.

Liftoff! is super snappy, but I can’t get used to the UI, to me it seems like it lacks attention to detail on the visuals part of the app.

Edit: I just figured out why it looks so strange to me: the app is very Material Design-y, so it feels outta place on iOS.
