    I tried it in a VM. It’s very quirky. This post actually just triggered me to look around for Open Solaris.

    I feel like that would be a great contender as an alternative OS since more software runs on it.

      OpenSolaris was insanely wonderful. I still have a collection of original, from Sun Microsystems, DVDs and CDs for Solaris, OpenSolaris and Solaris Express.
