As a foreman, I worked up a schedule of rolling days off for all the people below me so everyone worked a 4 day work week. Once or twice a month you would get a long weekend, either Monday or friday except the managers worked 5 days a week but worked 6 hours.
That way no one got laid off. We do food logistics so restaurants slowed down but everyone has to eat so we never closed.
