A drug that makes you hallucinate being on a dying planet where you learn to post memes and type into a little glowing box. When you wake up, you get to keep the glowing box.

Come to think of it: Doesn’t that flute look suspiciously like a 1st gen vape? Like… might the reason why he got the flute for real just be that he wasn’t zapped by some satellite but because he was high as a kite on some vapor coming from the “flute”? What if Q is just his version of white elephants?!

reminds me of that pasta where a guy suffers an accident and lives an entire life, marries and has kids while in a coma.

Actually had a friend who reported a somewhat similar experience on salvia. I watched him hit the pipe, giggle for a minute or so before his expression went stone cold. After he came down it took a while for him to get his bearings. Asked him what happened and he said he felt like he floated into the sky and landed on a giant clock face. He heard a voice tell him that he would be stuck on that clock forever, and said it felt like literal years that he was there. Said he wouldn’t do salvia again for a million dollars after that.

I on the other hand always had really delightful trips on it, so your mileage may vary from a five minute wacky giggle trip to eternity on the sky clock.

Man… I’ve done that twice. Definitely very uncomfortable experiences.

Twice was enough for me so we gave the rest to friends. One of my friend’s moms did it while I was in the room and never looked at me the same again. She told her son (my friend) later that she legitimately believed I’m the anti-christ.

I did Salvia once over 10 years ago and it truly changed my life for the better. Definitely something that more folks should try in a safe space. It’s similar to mushrooms but only lasts for a few minutes instead of hours.

Agreed. I’ve done salvia and mushrooms and they are both amazing, but I’ve also seen a few bad trips, usually from people that were a little unsure about trying it in the first place. My rule of thumb for psychedelics is to go in expecting an amazing experience, but if you have even the slightest hesitation, wait until you’re ready.

Part of me wonders if you could have a weight loss clinic that’s just a drug that puts people into a medical coma while raising their metabolism and then just keeping them in homeostasis until the weight eventually just sweats out of their system.

Fun fact: when loosing weight, you actually breathe the weight off. Fat is “burned” by your cells and the byproducts are transferred, via your bloodstream, to your lungs where you exhaust them.

Would the coma idea work though? I feel like it’d be an incredibly intensive process but for people willing to miss the time it’d probably be a godsend, go to sleep, wake up at a healthy weight and with a backlog of news to catch up on.

Just need to input fewer calories than you use. A body at rest still uses calories to maintain basic life. So just keep them hydrated and add certain nutrients that aren’t in stored fat. Unfortunately your body can also use muscle as stored energy. If you are inactive, it will burn muscle more than you’d like. It’s expensive to keep around. So if you’re on starvation diet and not using them. No reason to keep them. The body burns them up. So in the end you’ll be lighter, but also extremely weak. The effort of rehabilitation may be as bad as trying to exercise and diet not in a coma.

The biggest issue would be muscle atrophy. Even if you’re pretty sedentary, your muscles are doing a lot of work each day just to move you around. Being bedridden for even a few days can cause muscle loss. You also increase the risk of blood clots and bed sores.

Medically induced comas also come with risk of permanent injury or death, so they really only do them in absolute emergencies.

And lastly, there are already surgeries and medications for weight loss that work much faster. The issue is, without matching lifestyle changes, all that weight will just come back.

My sister asked how he had the flute afterward, like it was some kind of magic.

My dude, he replicated it. They can make more than just food from those things. That’s one of the reasons they don’t give replicators to everyone who asks.

If you had the 80 year lifetime that included the experience of hand crafting your own flute, you could just craft another one once you wake up.

I went to day 4 once on a party weekend, it wasn’t psychosis or anything but took so long to recover and last day wasn’t fun anyways. That’s when my never go past day 3 rule was made and to make sure to eat and drink when indulging.

And put the drug in our water & chemtrails.

Maybe instead of a drug invent a virus form that does the same. Or like a memetic agent hidden within commercials.
