So I keep seeing articles like this where people are saying MI:7 is her breakout role. And maybe it is? I admittedly haven’t seen the movie yet. But my question is: Am I missing something? Did the world seriously not know about her or her talent?

I would have thought all the work she did as Peggy Carter would have been what put her on the map. She’s also in an episode of black mirror. Idk. Is there more to this than I realize?

@_Rho_ The article is a puff-piece intended to promote the movie, not anyone’s actual hot take. The actors might have stopped participating in promotion due to the strike but the publicists on the studio payroll will keep finding ways of shilling.

She just hasn’t been in anything this high profile before and she stands out in it too. No need to overthink it.

Everyone’s been in Marvel content at some point and it’s not really acting, nobody’s really known for that except a few of the main ones.

Just because you don’t like something doesn’t mean it’s “not really acting”…

I feel like this is giving her acting in two full seasons of TV with Agent Carter too little credit.

That said, I’m happy she’s getting the credit she deserves. She’s awesome.

      Mission Impossible ain’t exactly Ibsen.

edit: I totally forgot when posting this that I actually saw Hayley Atwell as Rebecca West in Rosmersholm. 😂

She was literally the costar in the first Captain America film. From that she got her own show and then became a key character in the MCU.

      Your bias is irrelevant.

Baz Bamigboye, ex-entertainment columnist for the Daily Mail and also used to work at The Sun. Makes sense.

She’s been in big projects, yes, but never this big as a central role.
