minus-squareviking@infosec.publinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up15·9 months agoVitamin C more harmful than gasoline is an interesting one.
minus-squareChaoticNeutralCzech@feddit.delinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up18·9 months agoYeah, very confusing if you don’t understand how the data works.
minus-squareDale@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up4·9 months agoYeah, the ld50 for gasoline is 5000 mg/kg, not 14,000 which is the limit for acute toxicity. This whole chart is shit.
minus-squareugh@lemm.eelinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·9 months agoSpecifically from the sun, too. I have never heard of anyone dying from too much sun exposure that’s not related to the temperature or skin damage.
minus-squaresep@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up4·9 months agoNot possible to get 3-3.5 grams (based on bodey weigth) of d vitamin from the sun. Since the body produce about 25 micrograms in 10-15 minutes during peak summer. And would just flush the excess. To be leathal it would need to be in one single dose.

minus-square🅿🅸🆇🅴🅻@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·9 months agoOr just ingest a lot of D vitamin pills.

minus-squareblindsight@beehaw.orglinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·edit-29 months ago1000 IU of Vitamin D is 25 mcg. So the LD50 for an 80 kg adult is 37×80×1000÷25 ≈ 120 000 vitamin D pills. I think you’ll be fine.
