Hi, we at Ergomech Store now offers wireless builds with the Bluemicro840 controllers, please have a look at our blog posts to see more details.
Also, we’d like to introduce a discount code for Lemmy users: LEMMYUSERS
Please use this code to get 10% off for your items.
You should put a link to your store somewhere. I can’t seem to find it in the past.
It’s in the title mate.
In fairness, most clients don’t link/highlight incomplete URLs, so it’s easy to miss.
actually when I post this, there is a field for url and I’ve filled that with the actual url for the store, somehow it doesn’t appear at all.
You can edit your post and add the url in body
It might be a bug in lemmy because the
url
andthumbnail_url
fields in https://lemmy.world/api/v3/post?id=1759116 contain different URLs for the same image. My custom lemmy client shows both fields and all posts with images have two separate image URLs, which I bet is using twice as much storage on instances for all those duplicate images.I assume it’s because you also added an image to the post? I agree it’s not exactly intuitive, but people tend to post either an image or a URL to a page, not a combination of any of those.
Ah yeah that’s true.
Build one with a proper trackpoint and useable mouse buttons and I’ll buy 5 instantly
I myself is a fan of trackball and we’re developing a wireless build with trackball.
I’ve used both, and the trackpoint is massively superior for high speed touch typists. Trackballs are a hard pass for me.
Question - is the low profile enclosed aluminum corne case compatible with any of the standard corne PCBs? I have a bunch of v2 boards already assembled, and am considering case options.
This case: http://ergomech.store/shop/corne-enclose-case-choc-version-54
If you’re ready to loose the oled screens, then yes it should fit. I designed this for the choc version, and on the choc version, the holes for the oled is a bit closer to the promicro than on the cherry version. And if you install the cherry pcb on this, the oled holes are obstructed by a piece of the case, thus cannot fit properly. If you loose the oled screens, they should fit nicely.
This is based on the v3 pcb, I’m not sure about the v2 pcb, I’ll have to check, but if the holes are 1-2mm from the controller, it will fit.
I am curious about the rotary enc. Sofle got it too. How useful is it for development and some gaming purposes?
Thanks for the link. I’ve been looking at the Cornish Zen recently.
What would be the major differences between keyboards on your site and the CZ? I see they’re both wireless.
Functionally, they’re not very different. The CZ has onboard controllers so over all, it’s thinners, it has a e-ink display so it burn less battery. The Corne uses separate wireless controller (bluemicro840), so I have to design a case around this controller, thus making the case thicker and less refined than the CZ. It also can use an e-ink screen (the nice!view), but it’s not very easy to find, so I stick with OLED screens. My version can accommodate a huge battery so it can last months event with OLED screens.
Cool, thanks for the description! I’m interested in buying a pre built keyboard optimized for traveling. Which configuration would you recommend from your site?
Just checking - they all use QMK or ZMK right?
Yep, wired keyboard uses QMK, wireless uses ZMK.
Optimized for travel, then I’d suggest wireless low profile corne. It’s small, light and wireless.
months? how big of a battery are we talking here.
1000mAh, from my personal use, It can last at least 1 month possibly two, but I usually charge it once per 2-3 weeks.
Thx, I am increasingly interested in making a wireless version of my split.
Honestly this is pretty amazing. Didn’t know one could easily buy that, would have reconsidered my Logitech purchase, haha.
Is it possible to have a volume control button? Is it possible to have lighted keys? Does it support Bluetooth, WiFi, and cable? (3 machines) Dies the software allow building macros?
