The satellite images reveal a layout of streets strongly resembling the Bo’ai Special Zone, a restricted area in Taipei’s Zhongzheng District that houses Taiwan’s most important state buildings, including the presidential palace, the supreme court, the ministry of justice and the central bank of Taiwan.
The Bo’ai Special Zone is subject to specific regulations, including a strict ban on overflight.
Based on the shadow, I’m assuming the plane that took these photos is approximately 3 miles long.
It’s funny that someone felt the need to add it and therefore made it look much more unrealistic and fake
Hey, it is noted in the article that this is a satellite image, and I don’t see the plane anywhere in the shot. So either:
A) The plane is above the satellite, which probably would require an even larger plane to cast such a deep shadow effectively,
B) The plane is far away horizontally and actually bigger than the estimated 3 miles length to compensate,
C) It is just a simple scaled down cardboard replica with someone’s kid’s platic toy plane casting a shadow on it,
D) It is a big Chinese Dickbutt drawn to imitate a plane’s shadow so that the photographing satellite would say “oh shit” and look over its shoulder, as part of the prank,
Edit: E) It is an Arma map with some Arma dude using setObjectScale script on the plane and taking a screenshot.
Definitely D.
That’s what she said.
Always the D.
Don’t be ridiculous
It’s just really close to the sun
It’s the shadow of the pope posing Marylyn Monroe style above a city drain vent.
It is surprising to me that there are so many Chinese sympathizers. It is bad if and when China invades Taiwan just like is is bad that Russia is in Ukraine. It also would be bad if the US invaded Cuba.
You do not build a mock city unless you are looking to invade.
ChapoTH and Sino enjoyers likely have an alert bot for any post with China, Taiwan, CCP, etc. in the title/body.
Imagine caring so much about international news that you get pinged like it was a text message from a loved one.
I live near here. Those mfer have make landfall before actually getting to this point.
You can air drop men, but you need boots on ground from a ship to actually take over my country.
I wouldn’t want to be in the airborne unit being dropped. Your choices are basically to be dropped into urban combat, or on a freaking mountain. But I think I’d probably choose that over an amphibious landing on an island that’s been fortifying for this specific engagement for decades.
Either way, I definitely wouldn’t choose Taiwan as my first combined arms offensive in 40 years.
Without ammunition, shelter, food/water resupplies, the airborne unit would be a literal suicide mission.
Not just our beaches are fortified, but we also know when they will be coming. The seas in the Taiwan straits are very rough and there are only a few months out of the year that would be suitable to invade.
Plus, we know which side they would invade. Since we have a vast mountain range that blocks East and West. Also speaking of mountain ranges, our troops will take up refuge in those said mountains and conduct guerrilla warfare.
But let’s be real for a second. the CCP(should) have little interest in invading Taiwan. Sanctions from the West would cripple the country. Also their birthrates are at an all time low. A war would devastate that even more. China is already feeling some discontent since the CCP has broken the golden contract. The last thing they would want is to have another civil war, like the one that drove the original Chinese government to Taiwan in the first place.
Either way, outside of the 2AM fighter jet scrambles, we are not concerned.
I imagine if a full invasion ever happened it would be a complete shit show. Large combined arms maneuvers are problematic for countries with actual experience. I can’t imagine choosing Taiwan for your first time.

One would hope, but it wouldn’t exactly surprise me if they utilized it as a rallying cry if the rise in discontent on the mainland continues.
Tbh, this seems more like training facilities for special operations. In the 60’s North Korea built a to scale mock up of the Blue House in Seoul for the same reason, then they carried out a raid in an attempt to kill the president.
I wonder if the construction of the mock up in China aligns with your recent election cycle? From what I’ve read about Ching-te, he seems pretty adamant about the sovereignty of your country.
Well, the CCP did invade India in the Sino Indian war. But that was in the 60s. They are not exactly new at it. I think they also invaded Vietnam but my memory is fuzzy on why.
I voted for the first time in my life in Taiwan for this election. I think the main reason the KMT lost was because of a 3rd party ticket. I voted for Ching-te since he was the VP and I love how much he loves his people.
My dad used to tell me that barking dogs don’t bite. You worry about the quiet ones. That’s why I always knew Putin would invade.
But that was in the 60s. They are not exactly new at it. I think they also invaded Vietnam but my memory is fuzzy on why.
Their last major engagement was the sino Vietnamese war, where they attempted to invade Vietnam to support the Khmer rouge in Cambodia. It was a complete shit show.
Oh shit, you’re right. Well, we hope to give them a bigger shit show if they wanna fuck around.
There is another article containing more images:
I get confused over if mongolia is independent or russian or chinese?
Mongolia is an independent country. Inner Mongolia is a part of China and lies south of Mongolia the country.
thank you so much. Its confusing but I guess I do live in a place that have places like new england and new york.
Think Mongolia is to Inner Mongolia as Mexico is to New Mexico
Or Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Even better example, although I was trying to use one in the American context based on the comment about new england and new york. California and Baja California would be another on the American continent where the name of a geographic region that encompasses a national boundary is used separately on both sides of that boundary, although it’s a little different because neither of those two is a country
Maybe it’s just me, but if I look up the Taiwanese presidential palace on Maps and compare the surrounding streetplan to the plan in this article, I don’t see many similarities.
Try harder next time
On the one hand, scary.
On the other hand, it’s a military’s job to prepare for all potential conflicts.
Hell, there’s also this:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CONOP_8888
Or this:
It’s one thing to have a general plan for a hypothetical scenario. It’s entirely different to train your troops for a very specific scenario in a literal replica of the target location.
How many US troops do you think have received anti-zombie warfare training?
How many succesful zombie invasions has the US suffered?
I don’t see what that has to do with anything
conflicts*invasions
So what potential conflict would require your troops to know the government district of another country other than you trying to invade them?
This reminds me of the time all the papers were reporting on the replica of a us aircraft carrier in the desert. The hysteria “they’re using it for target practice!”. Yeah, duh. What, you think the US navy doesn’t prepare to sink Chinese ships? Or British ships for that matter? So what?
This just in: China is preparing to sink Taiwan
