    Had to, for Keaton’s Batman.
My young me would have never forgiven me otherwise. Loved every second.

CGI was embarassingly bad. Miller acts like a drunk monkey. The story was all a huge clichè.

The only very good thing (beyond Keaton), surprisingly, was superwoman - I would have gladly watched an entire spin off with her. She’s seriously cool.

I liked it overall. Didn’t enjoy some of the CGI and wish the ending with him getting his dad out of prison was different. Makes it seem like he didn’t learn his lesson at all.

But overall, I liked Ezra’s performance, Keaton Batman, and Supergirl a lot.

So I never minded Ezra Miller as the Flash before. I could not stand him in that movie. Supergirl was meh. Batman was really the only redeeming quality. Like I took some serious nostalgia hits to the feels, and it was awesome. Couldn’t save that train wreck though. Oh and I should note that I am a lifelong DC fan, and I really enjoy almost all the other Snyderverse movies. In fact I wish he had directed The Flash. Oh yeah, and the CGI was atrocious.

I do very much agree that I wish Snyder directed it. I didn’t mind Ezra in this mainly because of the contrast between the 2 Barry’s. I did enjoy his character a lot in Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

The CGI was genuinely terrible, and I’m usually really forgiving with that kind of thing. How could they release such a huge movie without QC? I started thinking it was a design or aesthetic choice because of how distracting it was, but no, I kept coming back to it looking like a rushed video game from the early 00s.

I’ve been hearing a lot about how rushed and underpaid CGI and post-production jobs are lately, I wonder if this is the result.

I really thought I watched an unfinished version of this movie by mistake. That’s how bad the CGI was. It doesn’t help that the director defended the cgi by saying they did it on purpose because when Barry is moving fast, things will look “distorted” from his perspective. What a laughable excuse. I remember seeing all the very positive reviews from an advanced screening like a month before release. Makes me think all those reviewer testimonies were paid.

Bad CGI aside, the plot was ok but execution was terrible. They made multiverses and time traveling seem so mundane and the viewer doesn’t really feel the weight or the implications of Barry’s actions. The jokes fell flat for me too. As usual, it’s always Batman who comes out as the best thing in these kinds of movies. Batfleck looked so bloated and weird though, and Affleck looked fine out of costume so I don’t know what was going on there.

Agree with most people’s takes. Cg was bad. Miller want great. Etc… The humor didn’t work for me, but that’s pretty subjective.

I thought the design of all the multiverse/time travel stuff was pretty boring. Crono-bowl? What?!? The scene with Flash running back in time in The Justice League is one of the more beautiful things I’ve seen on screen in a superhero movie… I was hoping for more of that, but most of the design in his movie was boring and uninspired.

It was fun seeing Keaton’s batman again! Sasha Calle was awesome! I didn’t even hate the cg cameos, I just really hope the family/estate signed off on the appearances.

Having read the Flashpoint and watched the animation, and already hating the miscasting of Ezra, I had low hope for the movie.

    I was disappointed still.

Watched it a few days ago, honestly it wasn’t as bad as the box office would make you believe. Some thoughts:

    • the CGI was really quite bad for such a big budget movie
    • I’m a sucker for flashpoint type movies, which definitely made me more biased towards it
    • I’m starting to get really tired of multiverse cameo heavy movies like this (including across the spiderverse)
    • Kara wasn’t as compelling as I’d hoped
    • Ezra Miller is a garbage human being

Overall I did enjoy it for the most part, it coukdbr been better but given DC’s track record this was actually in the top 25% of dc projects

Yeah it was Flashpoint…but not. Flashpoint lite. Without the good parts. Except Keaton.

It has one of the best final shots I’ve seen in a film since The Fabelmans. I laughed loudly at that. And honestly the rest of it was super fun. The big battle scene was a blast, and has some incredibly innovative stuff in it.
