What citra forks exist? I hears of lime3ds some time ago but it was just citra at the time I got it

Anything better exists rn?

lime is the most promising fork. Most of the other options are even less different or don’t even have binaries. Do you have any specific things missing from lime3ds? If not I would just use it

There’s also lemonade, which is prioritizing android compatibility but also looking to get desktop working at some point.

Lime3ds seemed a bit off-putting to me since the owner of the repo didn’t actually have any experience with software/emulation development (I think they were a Linux/FOSS YouTuber), but idk how that has changed/if there are other people maintaining it now

This is a tough ask, but since my hardware runs citra with most 3ds games I see no reason to move unless this one game is playable.

Is monster hunter stories playable on lemonade? On a retrpid p4 pro, it doesn’t run in citra

I don’t have any Citra successors installed yet because I still have my modded 3ds (I was only ever using it for specific game mods that don’t work on native consoles).

That being said, I doubt It’s still pretty early and developers have to get familiarized with a complex multi-thousand-line codebase they’ve never worked on before, so actual progress is going to be minimal.

It’s too early to decide which Citra fork to get behind yet. PabloMK7’s Citra fork existed before the Yuzu takedown and has ex-Citra contributors involved, so it’s probably a good bet to use already. Lemonade might go somewhere. I’m skeptical of Lime3DS, last I checked the commits were mostly cosmetic changes and readme edits.
