My girlfriend planted sunflowers in that pot but something else started growing. We can’t identify it. Can you help?
Looks a hell of a lot like stinging nettle at a glance. Do the leaves have angry little hairs on them that hurt to touch? Congratulations, you likely have A N G E R Y spinach, use hot water or a hot pack to decompose the venom (formic acid, which is heat labile a little below 100f) and cook the leaves for a delicious spinachy snack.
Oh shoot. That’s what I thought but I was surprised it could end up in our pot. I’ll be careful then.
Looks like Urtica.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/UrticaUsually grows at the side of roads and in forests in my area.
Should this be it, it’s not toxic and can even be brewed as a tea if I am not mistaken. That post is old lol. But yes, they’re nettles or urtica.
Didnt even notice the age. Was just browsing some plant communities and noticed a plant I knew looked alike :D
Looks like brennesle
Aw crap. Yeah it does look like that.
It’s a great plant!! Edible and stores nitrogen so it’s great as fertiliser
