I can see the difference in engagement between the subreddit and this community. I’m wondering out loud what we could do to motivate a migration from there to here.
I think it’s probably a bit too early for that. If memory serves this community only had 100 subscribers about a week ago. Since then it’s grown to almost 400 with only a couple of days of active posting! I think right now the goal should be to try to maintain a natural growth rate to kind of fill the size of our niche within the fediverse. I want to say the most important part of doing that is going to be establishing a good baseline level of discussion-type activity. Thinking longer term, however, any migration would probably require /r/menslib moderator support and thus would probably need to be instigated by negative action on reddit’s part. So be on the lookout for that because that may be the time to start organizing.
Also we need moderators! Anybody interested in volunteering should see this post
You are right. Maybe we should simply give it time.
If we are not in a rush, I would wait for Sync for Lemmy to come out. One of the biggest issue for potential new joiners is the lack of a very polished clients, and that could sell the deal. Personally, I really enjoy LiftOff and Thunder, but that’s me.
This is a great little community!
I dunno if Lemmy might be too hard a sell. But it couldn’t hurt for someone who still has a reddit to post there and ask.
Speaking of which, I don’t anymore. Any volunteer?
