The idea being that actually, you know, having a stable employer is soooo… 20th Century.

The new work environment is freelance! Hurray! You’re flexible! You also have no benefits, like health insurance. Hope you don’t get sick! Or, you know, need long term prescriptions or anything…

Is “the future of work” really just being a 1099 contractor? Not having a payroll department and having to do your own withholding?
