I worked on a project for him. He was just an awful human being, but he was crazy detailed oriented… and the devil is in the details. IMHO, his greatest strength was that he knew how to sniff out and monetize others’ brilliant work. Work that would otherwise go unnoticed. Some people call that parasitic, but I disagree. There are many brilliant projects that go unfunded because the people with the purse lack vision and imagination.

EDIT: Typo and grammar fixes after I found my galsses.

I hear ya, and I seriously disliked that motherfucker, but I am trying to give him props where due because neither Woz nor Jony Ive’s genius would have seen the light of day without that insufferable ego maniac. Seriously, he’s the only person I know that literally died of hubris.

The most credit I’ll give him is on understanding design, at least for the idea of making things look nice for marketing purposes. I hear what you’re saying though.

I do think Woz, who is just impressive, would have done well regardless. But I agree, likely not to the same extent of being a name many people know.

Who, of course, was getting dicked over by Jobs before Apple was even a thing, because Jobs was a thief in so many ways. But I digress.

It’s a shame so many idolize that garbage.

Dear lord. When Jobs died, the cult of personality that emerged made me want to hurl. Two movies? Did we really even need one?

You know what I want to see? A comedy about Steve Balmer.
