I’ll start - even though I have owned the game since launch, I have never been to Blackreach. Don’t even know how to get there.
Skyrim was my first Elder Scrolls game. During my first play through I climbed High Hrothgar the hard way. Once I reached the top, found out there’s actually a nice road on the other side of the mountain lol.
This is me too! First scrolls game and went up the mountain the “look upwards and spam jump button” way. In fact that represented a majority of my time in game my first playthrough
Ahahaha, thats cracked me up
I finish the main quest first before doing everything else.
Why would you say this in public
Because I am stunning and brave.
You some kind of sicko? Lol
I’ve never finished the main questline. I always play for many hours doing other stuff, then get bored with my character build and start over with something else.
I do this too.
I own all the DLCs because some mods require it, but I’ve never gotten to the point I played the actual DLCs
I bought all the DLC back when they released, but despite playing hundred of hours since I only completed Dawnguard a couple of years ago and have never touched Dragonborn
The only one I’ve played and finished is Dragonborn, Dawnguard I probably played up to Serana until that save said never should have come here so haven’t touched the dlc for at least two years
It took me years to get to the DLC. Had og skyrim on Xbox 360 and it wasn’t until 2022 on special edition (PC) that I beat the DLCs. I still haven’t gathered all the black books.
I have never finished the Thieves’ Guild questline because I refuse to give Nocturnal her unbreakable lockpick back.
2k+ hours, I have never made it further in the campaign than the first meeting with Partysnax.
Despite playing it since launch and owning multiple copies, I have never done the dragonborn DLC at all. I am not even sure how to start it.
I was the same way until my latest playthrough. I haven’t finished it yet, but it’s been interesting so far.
I’ve never finished it. By the time I get to this point in the game, the save is unstable and I’m bored with my DB.
The only reason I ever tried out new land/quest mods, follower mods, and mods that added in random npcs, is because in one of my early save games I killed most of the townspeople and wanted to go to another land that was more populated/re-populate Skyrim with new NPCs because I ended up regretting killing so many people, but I didn’t want to restart the save.
Oh, and also I don’t think Nazeem is that bad. I don’t like him but he’s made to be that way anyways. Honestly, the worst punishment is to keep that guy alive, he’ll always be wondering if his end is close every time you pass him, as many others have done to him.
I can’t stay engaged with long quests.
I have always had so many mods that I don’t really know what is original and not anymore(to some extent). It was too many years ago I played without.
I have never finished the main quest or any of the bigger side quest like siding with imperials or storm cloaks. I finished dark brooder hood multiple times and companions once and almost did the thieves guild (I was so close, then I got bored). I actually finished one dlc (dragonborn) but that is all. Most of my gameplay is exploring caves and dwemer civilizations and random small quests that was in my direction like killing bandits or giving ingredients/items.

This is my goal with all modding, honestly. As much as anything else I’m attracted to the idea of making a game my own unique, customized experience. My holy grail is getting to a point where everything is so thoroughly integrated that it’s impossible to tell at a glance what’s vanilla and what’s modded, and to just sort of lose myself in that sensation.
Oh yea! I hate it when I can tell right away. I try my best to patch everything and make sure the loadorer is just right and that I don’t get any mods that stands out like guns or anime stuff or random houses that do not fit in with the rest. I have over 1000 mods so it is a looot of work but it is so worth it. There was one load order I sat with for weeks, I started to wonder if I was ever going to play the game again 😂
Oh, man, “dark brooder” is perfect. 🤣 I only finished that questline out of disgusted hate from that damn jester. I needed to end him for good. 💀
Wow that autocorrect 😂 it does fit tho haha. Oh yea he was very annoying I always ended them. The horse was cool tho and the clothes was perfect because I like sneaking around, that is why I kept coming back on all of my runs. Did you join any “factions”?
Factions like Stormcloaks, etc.? I think there was at least one point where I tried to finish the civil war quest thing, but then the dragonflight mod came out and I completely lost interest, understandably. What’s a genocidal incursion when you’ve got dragons to ride over it all? I mean, the ability to wreak true and unmitigated havoc on the Imperial threat was the only thing missing from said mod (story-wise, that is; ofc you could fly around and raze every praetorian cosplay camp, but the narrative effect omitted how you did it). Just, wrap it up with a dragonfire bow, and get back to the bigger stage of cosmic, existential threats. Easy peezy, but no. 😅
Yea I tried once too but lost interest because of a lot of other mods. That is the sad part about mods in my opinion. Mods are great, makes the game so much better and makes it possible to play so much longer but also removes the fun with the original quest. I mean there must be a reason most pc users do not play the big quest haha
I’m not sure that’s the case, honestly. I’ve put over 500 hours into the game over the years, easily, and though I’ve played through the main quest a number of times, I just personally don’t give a shit about viking Braveheart 🤣 The base game itself is epic enough that simple things like all-out war seem petty when you can shout magic better than Darth Vader can crush throats.
Haha maybe it is just me then who get bored of the original content. I even try to spice it up with mods, like making the factions actually fight at random places, making the combat harder, like they can actually snipe me, one bandit in a tunnel got so op I had to get creative or I would just die the moment I was peeking in. Or maybe it is like you I do not care enough of the characters, I think other stuff is a lot more interesting to do 😂 and some mod quest is super cool, I actually install them without checking what it is so I will get surprised. One time I got randomly kidnapped and became a slave (nothing sexual, a true working slave) for a dummer in an underground city and I didn’t know if this was a mod or not until a bit later when I didn’t recognize the voices
Well, I certainly hope that we’ll get another experience like Skyrim soon. Who knows, maybe Starfield? 🤷🏼♂️🤞🏼
I’ve done dawnguard more than the mq or dragonborn or civil war questlines
This is me, but with the Companions quest line. I have yet to do Dawnguard. What build do you recommend?
Serana is a constant so it’s nice to play a melee build while she runs around zapping people and reviving chickens. The storyline can be a bit silly the first time around but i really appreciate the gothic flair of everything and fighting vampire guys
Thanks for the advice. I’ll have to give it a try sometime.
After years and years of playing and modding TES, I still have no idea what the whole “kill Nazeem” quest is or how to even start it.
I feel so guilty and shameful whenever I see a Nazeem meme.
And every time I bump into him in Whiterun I think to myself, ‘how do I kill you?’
Shit, I always thought it was a meme because we all went to kill him, but can’t.
Regarding Blackreach (this includes spoilers):
spoiler
I think that is the dwarf “subterranean” terrarium. I think there is a Elder Scroll quest where the crazy guy north of the college of winterhold (lives in an iceberg) asks you to go. I don’t think there are any other uses except maybe to try to get the “2 potions for 1 set of ingredients” perk.
I have never figured out what to do with Dravins Bow underneath the thieves guild.
Dravin lives in Merryweather Farm just north of Riften, he’ll gift you gems and the like for returning his bow.
Other than being one of the single most beautiful settings in the entire game, you mean. 🤓
I played through the main quest right away
Not only have I never finished the main quest, I’ve never even started Dragornborn or Dawnguard.
Every playthrough I do, I install new lands mods like Bruma, as well as a bunch of follower mods, all of which I never wind up even going to or meeting cuz I tend to stick with some of the simpler followers such as those in 3DNPC or something like that, and can’t figure out how to work it into the roleplay that I go to the new lands
I have also never beat the Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood questlines even though I have had the game for over 9 years
