For any of you that are located in Central Washington state, the Heritage Gardens of the Columbia River Basin organization has been wonderful to work with! They design native plant, low water, and insect/animal habitat friendly landscapes for homes (and I think businesses).

They sent a person out to do an on sight observation, measurements and consultation. They then followed up with a email containing a design specifically for my house, a list of plant suggestions to chose from, and a list of potential suppliers for them. They even provided a suggested timeline of when to remove the lawn, plant the new species, and other tasks related to converting from lawn to native landscape.

The initial level of detail time they put into landscape designing was excellent, and they are also continuing to work with me to tweak the design for what I do and don’t like. If you are in Central Washington and are considering going no-lawn or adding more native plants to your landscape I highly suggest this FREE resource!
