The occasion is significant enough for me to figure out how to use emojis: 🥳
Don’t forget to eat and sleep, fellow engineers. Have fun, and try to stay in touch with your wife/husband/girlfriend/boyfriend, as well as any kids and pets you are responsible for feeding!
Jokes on you, I play factorio with my boyfriend
I can sleep when I’m dead, the factory must grow.
Already got rid of the wife, so the factory can grow.
The factory must grow.
Quick, short every tech stock out there - this quarter is going to be completely unproductive.
(This is not financial advice - just to be 100% clear)
It’s not, but I’m personally going to be less productive
Honestly the most I’ve been willing to buy anything gaming related at zero hour in years. Even if this game isn’t your speed, wube has been an absolute shining example of a great developer.
There’s nothing shiny about factorio, everything’s semi-rusted.
The only major reputation stain I can think of is the Uncle Bob situation
Yeah :/
‘hey do you wanna maybe distance yourself Uncle Bob a bit?’
‘gtfo with that cancel culture bullshit’
Finally, more weaponized time travel.
I am afraid to get home tomorrow from this work trip… It’s already sitting in the library, waiting ominously

They made the rockets cheaper and faster to build, it’s sooooo good so far.
I’m still waiting for the Linux DLC installer on GOG… It’s available for Windows and Mac, but not for Linux (yet, I hope).
I have it on Steam, but I can understand wanting it DRM-free. I don’t think Wube would try some corporate DRM shenanigans though.
If you buy it on steam you can then reclaim it DRM free on Wune’s website
I knew you could get a non-steam version if you bought it on steam, but I never knew it was DRM free!
I agree with you! Having it on Steam, do you still need to use the Steam launcher to play games that don’t have DRM?
You do not. Assuming the devs didn’t implement DRM, you can dig through your Steam folders to find the executable and launch it directly.
Looking at the forum, I’m not the only one. https://www.gog.com/forum/factorio/no_downloadable_space_age_installer_for_linux
In fact, the serial key that GOG provides can be used on the official factorio website to download the game. I think this is amazing! I’m currently downloading the 4GB file right now.
Pretty sure it also works with Steam purchases btw, but you’ll have to create an account on their website and link your steam account to it
I just started playing Factorio… nowhere near space age yet!
After 2000 hours I am burned out. I can’t ever see myself getting back into it.
Expansion or not it’s just the same old shit really.
I just straight up can’t buy it without getting a gog account (or going the steam route which is rather not for DRN reasons) because humble just flat out refuses to verify any and all purchase attempts…
You could just buy it direct from their site
Which is exactly what I am trying but the payment redirects to the humble store at the end and they always cancel the transaction with no helpful error message.
And since their “projected time to answer” currently is 7 days it’ll still be a short while until I get that sweet cracktorio hit again 😅
BTW, you get a DRM free copy even if you buy from steam. You just need to link your Factorio account and you can download the installer from their website
