    Good shave, but I still have a slight tingle on my face. There are maybe 2 or 3 shaves still left on the sample.

    Have a good evening!

    ⚜ Ouh là là! Mon 11 Nov 2024 ⚜

    • Brush: Mühle Purist (21 mm silvertip badger, ebonite handle)
    • Razor: Schick Repeating Razor Type B
    • Blade: Personna Injector Blade
    • Lather: Spearhead Shaving Company – Seaforth! Fleur de France
    • Post Shave: Spearhead Shaving Company – Seaforth! Fleur de France
    • Fragrance: Spearhead Shaving Company – Seaforth! Fleur de France

    Fleur de France is such an odd-ball. Half a Fougère (missing the green) on one hand, and powerful musk on the other. At first sniff, you brace for a stanky animalistic scent, and instead it’s clean smelling. I love it. Getting a backup set of this discontinued scent was the right decision.

    • Brush: AP Shave Co Lemondrop 28mm SynBad
    • Blade Holder: Gillette President Y-2
    • Blade: Personna Lab Blue (7)
    • Lather: Wholly Kaw - King of Oud - Soap
    • Toner: Thayers - Rose - Toner
    • Aftershave: Wholly Kaw - King of Oud - Aftershave

    2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

    King of Oud is an older scent from Wholly Kaw. I saw somewhere that it is a dupe of Creed Royal Oud. The scent has no dankness or barnyard smell to it. I’ve never smelled these notes on an oud scent, but recall that they can be there. Anyway, this one’s a keeper. I’m off to try and find a decant of Royal Oud. I have a feeling this could be a real find for me. Great FLS today!

    It’s Veterans Day here in the US. I have worked with all branches of the US military except the Coast Guard during my career. This is a day where we thank those who have served for their service.

      I got a sample of Oud 27 from Le Labo that definitely had some dankness to it. Didn’t surprise me too much given that it’s the result of fungus-infected wood. :)

      It’s a nice scent though, especially for cooler weather. I could see myself enjoying it in a shave soap.

        Oud oil is high prized in some parts of the world and is quite expensive. King of Oud from Wholly Kaw and Noble Otter Two Kings are two very popular oud-related scents. Rosa Oud from Eufros has a different personality from Two Kings, but Eufros can be hard to find.

    Monday, November 11, 2024: FLS - Rainy Morning Shave

    • Brush: Zenith - B21 boar
    • Razor: Gillette - Super Speed Black Tip
    • Blade: Gilette - 7 O’Clock SharpEdge (1)
    • Lather: Chiseled Face - Ghost Town Barber
    • Post: Chiseled Face - Ghost Town Barber Aftershave splash
    • Post: Ginger’s Garden - Unscented AS balm (+ menthol)
    • Frag: Chiseled Face - Ghost Town Barber EdP

    A pleasant and drama-free shave to the sound of some much-needed rain. A great start to the week.

    I started wetshaving with one of the Chiseled Face starter kits, and Ghost Town Barber was the soap I received as part of the kit. It’s a very warm and comforting scent and performs quite well for me.

    It looks like the bottom of the tub is starting to peek through. Exciting!

    I’m back home now so I could have picked a different soap to use, but this one was nearby and I’ve been enjoying it for the past 5 days so decided to give it another go.

    • Brush: Mühle Purist (21 mm silvertip badger, ebonite handle)
    • Razor: Schick Repeating Razor Type B
    • Blade: Personna Injector Blade
    • Lather: House of Mammoth – Mood Indigo
    • Post Shave: Chicago Grooming Co. / House of Mammoth – Armonía

    I may start coming around to this brush. Yes, it’s tiny, yes it feels empty in the face, but it lathers easily, and has great flow-through (duh). I haven’t had a single bad lather with it yet. It may be the Henson Al13 of brushes for me in that it is very functional and that I feel like a dick criticising it because it’s objectively fine.

    Mindigo ++;
    Armonía ++;
    Repeater ++;
