It’s a joke, probably fair to call it a circlejerk but it’s mostly self-perpetuating at this point. “Gamer, rise up!” and “I’m sure everyone will have pronouns as well” are the main giveaways. The last one I’m less sure about because the punchline is weak but I would still guess it isn’t sincere.
I used to believe like you. That these were just trolls. Otherwise reasonable people having a laugh. Good times all around.
And then the election happened. So now I’m no longer sure that the world is full of mostly reasonable people. And I believe at least half of these people are actually like this.
It could be, but I’ve seen what seems to be genuinely held beliefs that look identical to these.it turns out these very fragile snowflakes actually exist too, to the detriment of us all.
Sure some are parodying but these socially awkward white men who wrap their entire life’s around videogames are real and are the loud minority. Because games are their life they feel attacked when they see non-whites they can’t kill in games.
