Soft layoffs? These companies deserve to fail if they thought that was a good idea.
Tell your employees the company is in trouble, and then make a blanket offer to staff to voluntarily exit the company for small compensation? You know who’s going to take that deal? The people who have been in the industry long enough to not look a gift horse in the mouth. Who does that leave you with?
Wow IGN, you really suck. I used to love Humble Bundle back when they mostly had indies, and I remember when they first launched Humble Monthly, and I subbed for years. In fact,I frequently paid 2x or more of their asking price, and I would increase Humble’s share most of the time because they found such a cool mix of games.
All of that stopped around the time IGN bought them. Game selection became less interesting, and I didn’t feel like they had much value anymore, so I paid the bare minimum for bundles and only got Choice when it was a good deal. They turned a cool curator site into a bargain bundle site.
I now spend far more at Fanatical than Humble because they’re actually open about being a bargain site, and I find their selection more interesting.
Please, stop killing interesting services.
