My jaw dropped when I saw these lol.
“Eco-friendly bio-resin derived from CORN!”
Bitch, that’s PLA! 😂😂
I love how 3d printed goods for the general public always try to make PLA sound like something super special… “100% colored bio-resin” bro it’s PLA it’s 20 bucks per kilo
€150? Damn, I feel bad for any sucker who buys that.
A hundred and fifty euros for a PLA print, with obvious layer lines? Good lord!
They’re not even really nice quality
So after currency conversions, that’s . . . $65CAD for maybe $2CAD of filament (depending on the exact size of those busts)?!
Supplying that shop must be a nice gig if you can get it . . .
That’s $216 CAD
150 euros? I’m in the wrong line of work!
Overextrusion, low resolution, is that layer shifting I see? Good lord this is atrocious
For all of the people here who knows about 3D printing, this happens all the time with every market: fixing some kind of issues for some kind of pipes for a plumber may seem like a steal, but it’s what they take for their knowledge about how to fix it. I’ve been a professional computer repair man and at the beginning I also couldn’t believe people would pay to help them to reinstall Windows on their PCs, because to me that was really simple. But most people don’t know and don’t want to know about some things (you and me included) and are willing to pay for a service or a good that they want. Your knowledge about 3D printers has value and you can benefit from it.
Being said that, those statues seem to be made with the cheapest printer and filament they could find. If at least they used a better printer and some marble filament, it would look more professional or appealing
It sounds like a lot, but it looks like this in a museum gift shop. Their profit margins on these prints are probably comparable to anything else in the shop, but a lot of people don’t mind if it’s a nonprofit they want to support.

Yes, this is the official gift shop in the Roman Coliseum. I found it really strange that they would be selling 3d prints. It’s like, why?? If you want to sell plastic souvenirs, surely injection-molded plastic would be much more efficient, cost-effective, and higher quality.
It feels like maybe the gift-shop managers kid “had a great idea” for his new toy.
We were there a few months ago, and I was disappointed at the low quality of this schlock. 😅
Years ago my wife and I were in Rome and went to Vatican City. All the tourist places nearby had this lenticular print of Jesus face as he hung on the cross. Hold it one way and his eyes were closed. Change the angle slightly and his eyes open. It was sooooo overwhelmingly tacky. Now I wished I’d bought it because it WAS so tacky.
thought it was really weird soap for a second.
Washing your genitals would be awkward lol
