Yeah it’s shitty our privately ran parties don’t have fair primaries, but it seems better than having a dictator

I feel like only one of us thinks these are both bad governments.

I feel like there was a party that went on endlessly about how democracy was its own virtue for 8 years… say what you want about the GOP, they have a democratic primary process the party doesn’t rig ahead of time…

[edit: I LOVE how you party line sheep mass downvote me when I call out your bullshit, it is why I live, tbh, keep giving me fuel with your impotent downvoting instead of starting a political movement that competes with the GOP and just cockblocking us]

Interesting that ICE agents invading schools to kidnap children and put them in concentration camps is “say what you want about the GOP”.

Interesting that the end to birthright citizenship is “say what you want about th GOP”.

Interesting that trans erasure and genocide is “say what you want about the GOP”.

Interesting that the annexation of Gaza into Israel is “say what you want about the GOP”.

None of that matters to you though. When it comes to the GOP, the only thing that really matters to you is not people saying what they want, because you allowed it, but that the GOP upheld the values of Democracy in it’s primary elections and did not rig it’s primary for someone other than Donald Trump to win.

Say what you want about the GOP.

The DNC did count primary votes. What evidence is there to the contrary? Are you talking about the superdelegate system that some argue kept Bernie from being the candidate in 2016 and that was subsequently eliminated? Yeah they still counted very vote in 2016 and Hillary had more. I didn’t like it either, but knew plenty people who were excited about her.

Keep telling yourself that while these political geniuses lose every non-midterm election of the rest of your life, empowering the GOP for decades to come. At least they did nothing wrong and it’s the voters’ fault.

I didn’t say that at all. The entire system is awful and the Democratic leadership is awful. At the same time, the DNC counted every vote and there was a democratic primary in 2024.

In which they threatened all viable opposition to keep them out of the primary, leading the sole entrant to be a quixotic ice cream millionaire who didn’t plan to run for reelection so he didn’t care about threats to end his political career from the party. You know, democracy.
