Went up by a thousand in 2 minutes if I’m reading it correctly.

Looking at it again, yeah. I think that’s exactly what’s happening.
p_p raised to 800 and it immediately went up to 810 in favour of j_s. p_p then proceeded to raise by a hundred until 1600 with p_p automatically raising to that number + 10.
So I think either there’s an autobid, some sort of script, or someone with no life involved.
I think it might be the latter. I watched it for half an hour while JS was not in the lead, so I don’t think it’s automatic
Actually, there’s a “How auctions work” link. It says:

Wouldn’t it be better to agree whatever bit yall want to do with the domain name and spend the money on something more productive? Here’s a father trying to buy his kid a new leg after Israel blew it off.
Back when it was 300, all of hexbear was under agreement that the domain isn’t worth that much, and losing it to capitalism is a funny bit, redirect it to /r/neoliberal or the wikipedia article on economics or the Black Book of Communism or something. Maybe declare Juan Guaidó the interim president of hexbear and redirect to his twitter.
Whoever you’re in a bidding war with wants to do the same thing you do.
You need to pool in with someone else!
