I’ve been on a nostalgia binge as a lately and decided to listen to a bunch of stuff from my childhood. The Killers, No Doubt, Modest Mouse ect. I used to be really into rock, as a kid.
ive recently discovered Khruangbin! Freaking LOVE them, very chill, laid back music for good vibes. Comparable to Nujabes, Glass Beams and Funkadelics tamer stuff.
Khruangbin means ‘Airplane’ in Thai :D
I’ve been listening to David Bowie “Scary Monsters” album. Here’s a sample track https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vWTQ3vshLNY&pp= Feels dystopian. But danceable.
Juno Reactor - Bible of Dreams (1997) (Album)
I’ve been cranking out code all weekend while listening to Juno Reactor and Orbital albums.
Juno is so good. Sounds like a very nice weekend.
I’ve been listening to Tanya Tagaq’s Retribution album this morning. She’s by far the best Inuk-punk performer in the world, no exceptions. (I say this with confidence because she’s the only Inuk-punk performer in the world. 🤭)
I purchased an OG copy of the grease soundtrack on vinyl over the weekend. :) otherwise I’ve been listening to this long playlist I have that’s collectively 4 days long lol been a tad insatiable.
I attended the University of Chicago Folk Festival as I do every year and came home with a larger then usually stack of albums from the artists.
Livestream available for anyone who wants to check it out.
I’ve been listening through the Ozric Tentacles discography. Idk why I never got into Space Rock before but as a fan of Psytrance it is kind of a no brainer really.
Got into it after reading Eat Static are ex-members of Ozric, and so decided to check it out.
And right now Ishq, ambient. Was a feature on Jon Hopkins latest album RITUAL.
With their announced retirement, I’ve been on a kick of playing a lot of The Pillows
edit - I missed that I should have included a yt link 😁
Ohhhh man The Pillows are so good. Last Dinosaur is tops.
Oh, I just heard they are disbanding?!
Amon Amarth - Berserker
A great mix of fast riffs and amazing lyrics. The mix is too bassy though.
I discovered Draw Your Swords by Angus Stone, Julia Stone. The first time I listened it throuhg my new hifi-setup I was blown away when he started singing at 00:57. The clarity and the difference in volume hits a spot that makes me kinda emotional.
