The Osage Minerals Council on Tuesday announced that it firmly opposes and rejects the Department of Government Efficiency’s proposal to terminate the lease for the Bureau of Indian Affairs Osage Agency Office in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. The Osage Agency Office is essential to the Council’s efforts to optimize oil and gas development within the Osage Mineral Estate. Additionally, it plays a critical role in upholding the United States’ treaty and trust obligations to Osage Headright Holders. The Council will challenge any actions that threaten energy development within the Osage Mineral Estate.
