Unfortunately, this “side of the road” i mentioned previously is typically dirt, meaning that it’s very dangerous to pass from. In many regions where common courtesy exists, pulling over to the side of the road (refer to previous sentences if still unsure) is very much appreciated.

Or it’s a ditch you can get a car in to but not out of without employing a tow truck. This is the most common situation in single lane roads that don’t have any alternative water management features. But you’d know that if you ever touched grass in your life.
