Manchester United has concluded its internal investigation into the allegations made against Mason Greenwood. Our process commenced in February 2023, following all charges against Mason being dropped. Throughout, we have taken into account the wishes, rights and perspective of the alleged victim along with the club’s standards and values, and sought to collate as much information and context as possible. This has required us to proceed with sensitivity and care to obtain evidence not in the public domain, including from those with direct knowledge of the case.

Based on the evidence available to us, we have concluded that the material posted online did not provide a full picture and that Mason did not commit the offences in respect of which he was originally charged. That said, as Mason publicly acknowledges today, he has made mistakes which he is taking responsibility for.

All those involved, including Mason, recognise the difficulties with him recommencing his career at Manchester United. It has therefore been mutually agreed that it would be most appropriate for him to do so away from Old Trafford, and we will now work with Mason to achieve that outcome.

This is almost worse for me. It is clear to everyone he did it, the recordings are there for everyone to listen to. The charges hung for so long because there was good evidence we don’t know of. They only went away because she refused to cooperate at the end.

Covering it up and saying he did not commit the offenses is total bullshit. But, as you said at least he’s gone. It’s a shame he won’t be held accountable for his actions, but that is a societal problem, not a Manchester United problem.

and if he is actually innocent and they believe him to be innocent, that’s not a good look either, because now the club is saying, yeah mate we know you are innocent, and we said we need to take care of you since you were here since you were 7, but it’s a pain in the ass to stand by you, so, off you go.

there is just no way to come out of this positively for the club, absolute amateur shit on the leadership’s part, again.

Crafton has a good piece on it out, i will post it later, but need to get some actual work done.

Ye seems unnecessary, maybe it’s a legal thing that they had to put in there or something insisted on from his side to ensure he goes quietly.

Most likely he played it off as rape fantasy role play or something? If he tells the police that what it was and he manages to get her to tell the same story and she drops the charges - there’s not much the police can do.

Ofc it’s bullshit but that’s my guess how it played out at least.
