Europe needs to take him serious. He sees that it works out just fine for Netanjahu and Putin, nobody does anything against them. Greenland is a nice and easy first target.

As an American I really hope the EU takes this seriously. I was screaming about shit like this since Jan 6th and nothing was done. Take these people seriously. The US will invade Greenland and it will be to distract from Putin doing something even worse in Ukraine. They are betting the EU can not fight a war on two fronts. Prove them wrong.

Well, if USA and Europe were at war, with article 5, they could arrange it so that Europe fought Europe and USA fought USA, singe they are allies and must help. It would save a lot of transatlantic logistics and make things much easier.

It’s not a distraction, it is the cornerstone for US control in the North Atlantic. It backstops the US ability to defend the eastern seaboard and be able to strike Europe.

The US already has military bases and the ability to develop resources in the area. Denmark has been more than willing to cooperate.

The only reason you spend the political capital to annex Greenland is if you foresee a future where Denmark will not cooperate and may see the US as a strategic threat.

That’s all you need to figure out where all of this is leading.

It’s also about control of the Northwest Passage IMO; that’s why he’s interested in Canada and Greenland.

USA population: 346m. EU population: 449m, i.e. about 29% higher.

What percentage over the USA domestic market would we need to be to be not “too few”?

French SSBNs off the coast of Mar a lago and DC and a clear statement that Danish and Canadian land is now covered by French Nukes.

Something that happened or was uncovered recently anywhere in the world. It doesn’t have to have global implications. Just has to be informative in some way.

Post guidelines

Title format

Post title should mirror the news source title. If you don’t like the title of article, look for an alternative source instead of editorializing it.

URL format

Post URL should be the original link to the article (even if paywalled) and archived copies left in the body. It allows avoiding duplicate posts when cross-posting.

[Opinion] prefix

Opinion (op-ed) articles must use [Opinion] prefix before the title. Opinion articles refer to articles that their publisher doesn’t explictly endorse.

Country prefix

Country prefix can be added to the title with a separator (|, :, etc.) if the news is from a local publisher who doesn’t clearly mention the country.
