British comic book creator R.E. Burke, has been banned from visiting the USA for ten years… I doubt that will be a problem.

Main lesson: NEVER EVER SIGN ANYTHING even if you are tired, desperate, or afraid. Classic interrogation railroading there. NEVER just think “Oh if I go along with this it’ll end sooner.”

That’s exactly what people in charge want you to do, which is what makes this advice so very important to understand.

This is America, and at least according to the constitution, everyone (regardless of citizenship status) is supposed to have rights; such as the right to shut up, the right to not incriminate themselves, the right to a lawyer, and so on.

Be mindful you have to verbally invoke these rights: “I am exercising my right to remain silent,” “I want to speak to a lawyer,” “I invoke my 5th amendment rights,” etc.

Of course reality doesn’t always mesh with what’s supposed to happen, so really the best thing you can do is ask for a lawyer and keep any answers you give LEO short and on point with the questions being asked.

NEVER VOLUNTEER ANY INFORMATION THAN YOU NEED TO.

Remember, cops WILL use everything you say against you. That’s their job.
