Just finished the season last night. I’m hoping for a supporting nomination for Shawn Hatosy/Dr Abbott. He was amazing in his scenes, and so different than other roles we’ve seen him in.

This was an excellent show, and several people involved in the first season should win an Emmy, including Noah Wyle

I haven’t watched it, but as a former emt I can tell you that any show that resembled an actual er would be boring as hell.

Episodes 1 through 5: dealing with 3 sore throats, 4 general malaise, 1 stubbed toe, none of whom needed the er and probably didn’t even need a doctor.

    Episode 6: an actual emergency!

Episodes 7 through 15: don’t even need to film them, just run repeats from the first half of the season.

There’s a bunch of actual ER docs that watch the show and definitely say it’s effectively a “day from hell”. But mostly realistic.

Even inside the show, they present it as “the day from hell”, and talk about that very thing beginning, middle, and end. I think that was the whole point of it.
