I’ll never forget before his first terms when he said he would end the Iraq conflict, because he knows more about it than all the generals. And americans were cheering him on. No one wondering why he would in fact know more about the iraq conflict than people who are actually involved in it. Or that it could just be a lie to get elected.
He might have honestly believed that was true. It was always a lie from a realistic perspective but narcissism is weird like that. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if he thought he was capable of negotiating peace instantaneously.
