The humanitarian mission will also include the French-Palestinian politician Rima Hassan, who was recently barred from entry into Israel. Earlier this month, a similar vessel was mysteriously hit by a drone off the coast of Malta

But he had lost so many of his sons, that would change any man’s constitution. It’s a deeply traumatic event.
True, I don’t remember it well enough. But, stranger things have happened, people look for things to blame after traumatic events even when there’s no one to blame.
I’d say we can’t expect him to be perfect. Though I suppose, it could be possible. I’d have to read it again.
Hmmm, True that.
But, like you said GRRM likes to repeat themes and such. I don’t see how insinuating that Davos may have been possessed affect the story line in anyway. But I suppose, that’s where Euron’s plot could come in.
See, now that part does make a little sense. I always thought those chapters felt like a different story. Why not skip to the Manderlys, why linger on the three sisters, right? (it could have been an effort to expand upon the world building, but story wise, it still feels weird)
I guess you’ve convinced me that there’s something going on with the Davos plot. If Martin truly meant it, it would be interesting to see. I wonder what’s the skagos storyline going to be like and if Rickon will have something to do with the Deep ones. The skagosi are also known to be cannibals right? I wonder if there’s a connection between them and the deep ones. Some sort of feral mixed form of worship of the old gods and the deep ones.
I think Davos having a psychic link with the Deep Ones will come into play later on, he will receive frightful visions that try to convince him to do something that furthers the agenda of the Deep Ones.
I think he will be vulnerable to this due to Stannis/Melisandre burning Shireen (which I do believe will happen), who Davos is very close to. Sacrificing children has always been his moral red line and this will drive him to do something extreme, perhaps guided by the Deep Ones.
It makes sense that Patchface will be burned at the same time, as the only reason anyone suffers him to be around is because Shireen likes him.
Do you see how these things are all wrapped up together? Shireen and Patchface are currently at Eastwatch by the sea, which is where there is reportedly “dead things in the water”.
Wonder if doing blood magic at the hinge of the world (the wall) could make anything drastic happen? 🤔 Meanwhile Aeron and Euron are hanging outside of Oldtown preparing to do blood magic sacrifices while Leyton Hightower sits in his tower “Mayhaps raising an army from the deep” or something to that effect.
I’m not sure exactly what will happen but watch these 2 locations.
The reference to dead things in water is definitely about white walkers and the hardhome shenanigans.
But I do see the sacrifice happening, feels like such a significant plot point and very earned for the story so far. But I wonder who’ll do it. Stannis is all the way near winterfell.
I’d love to …if we had the books 😶🌫️
