Please bear with me, I’m not very tech savvy.
The keyboard seems perfect for me and my needs, tactile orange specifically, white colour, but the fairly bad quality control and issues surrounding it is putting me off, heard it’s guaranteed to start double clicking at some point due to a hardware flaw or something, idk exactly, and Razer doesn’t directly serve in my country (even though their everywhere here) and availability and warranties and what not are super weird for my region as well, so no guarantees I’ll be able to get anything fixed if anything goes wrong months later after a purchase. Worth the gamble or no?
Any alternatives that are very similar to check out? Couldn’t find much as well rounded or fairly available as this one for my needs while searching around.
Ok, with nothing to go on, here’s a few ideas:
Redragon K681 - https://a.co/d/idxD49Y
RK Gaming/Royal Kludge R76 - https://a.co/d/3ZEqlef
Ducky Tinker 75 ProjectD - https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/products/ducky-tinker-75
Okay did a bunch of running around, out of everything suggested the best one for me seems to be the RK R75 for now, even the price is super good, half what everything else is currently priced at for me (hope that doesn’t mean it’s the most poorly built…). Wish it was white or pink/turquoise though, don’t like the black, the other colour options for it don’t have any backlighting for the text, and trying to find custom stuff for the keycaps is not straight forward, not familiar with this modding stuff, and also weird availability and pricing once again.
Should I pull the trigger on it? Anything I should be aware of it? Why it over the Razer? Is it’s brown tactiles similar to what the Blackwidow V4 has?
Get a Keychron or any number of other keyboards where you can actually change out the switches themselves. If you want a nice keyboard, do not buy a Razer or Corsair or any of the canned crap that’s dead as soon as any individual piece breaks. It’s just mass produced crap with the ability to fix anything removed.
Sadly, this is 100% accurate. I have 4 Keychron boards in my collection, they have most consistent and best quality. I would get at least a K series though. I was not impressed with my 1st V Series that I recently gave a shot.
Can you recommend a specific model or something? Availability is near non existent for me on that brand sadly, and whatever little is available is VERY expensive and doubled/quadrupled in price, and lacks the things I’m looking for. Couldn’t find much that’s similar to a Blackwidow V4 75%, it’s perfect for me and my needs, it’s extremely well rounded, perfect size for me, has RGB text so I can use it in darker lighting (seems very rare to find outside of the big brands), comes with a wrest pad out of the box (also very rare to find), is hotswappable (I checked, it fully supports this, so no idea what the other commenter meant or if they forgot), has media controls, and felt amazing to click on when I tried it once, just the right amount of resistance for me to avoid misclicking constantly, it’s got everything I need, it’s just the quality control and weird regional bullcrap for warranties that I’m afraid of, otherwise I’d go with it without a second thought.
Nicher brands may or may not even be an option for me, only the big brands have somewhat of a stable-ish presence globally, nothing I can do about that, it is what it is, so idk what to do here. Multiple recommendations would be appreciated for me to look into.
What’s your budget and what country are you in?
150$ is my max budget rn. Won’t say my country for personal reasons, very sorry, I know that makes things difficult.
Generally though the bigger the brand or the more internationally focused they are the higher likelihood of them being available, the nicher/smaller the brand the less likely they’ll pop up and also way more likely to have weird prices and taxing if they do.
Costs on the other hand I have no clue, it’s all over the place. Something that costs 60$ in one place can cost anything from 90$ to 200$ locally for no clear reason, online or not, it’s very random… So the more choices for me to look into the merrier I say cause your guess is as good as mine haha 😅
Keychron ships worldwide so I’m surprised. Can you give a general geographic region? Europe? Middle East? Africa? A continent? Antarctica? I’m just not versed in who ships what where. Did you order your Razer direct from Razer themselves? Does Amazon Ship to you?
