But Yoshinori Kitase says it would be difficult, and he’s not thinking about it until 7 is done…

  • That’d be cool as hell. FF6 is probably my favorite of the mainline Final Fantasies. I’d love to see that world in full 3D. Of course, I’d totally take a HD-2D version, too.

FF6 is the best Final Fantasy ever imo. I loved the pixel graphics, it had a great story. I loved it so much I hit lvl 99 on my characters just grinding it.

Oh man, you just brought back a memories for me of playing this game on our Super NES (when it was still labelled Final Fantasy III in the U.S. market) with my brother. We took turns and after beating the story the first time, (what a shock World of Ruin was for us the first time) we went back and ground ALL the characters to level 99, used the Espers and items to get them every spell, got all Gau’s Rages on the Veldt. (I don’t think we completed Strago’s Lores but I had kind of fallen off by that point, my brother may have.) Geez, core memory restored of bonding with my little brother, ozoned, so thanks!

FF6 is probably the best one, story-wise. It’d be great even if they kept the original top-down style and all the same game mechanics and just redid it with modern graphics. It’s one of the most imaginative settings of the series.

Honestly, the graphics still kinda hold up. And if they would keep the same style then I’d wish for something like Octopath Traveler.

Personally a remake would need a couple quality of life additions. Like no random encounters, option for auto-battle, etc… Just please pleeeaaase for the love of all that is holy, don’t make a spectacle fighter out of it. Turn-based is fun if done right and should stay a staple for JRPGs.
