Recently, Kevin Williams at Inside EVs got an unwelcome present from the city of Ferndale, Michigan: a parking ticket. His great crime? Backing into a parking space instead of parking nose-in. While I disagree with this kind of law (backing in is safer and more efficient), all’s fair with warning, ... [continued]

Never even heard of such a dumb parking space where you can pull in, but it’s illegal to back into. Land of the free, or something.

I just want a damn cover so I can get out when it is raining and not get soaked. Is the design implemented in 1960 too much to ask?

Its a common complaint in Australia as well. Over here it seems mostly becase the change points are in parking areas that have never had covers, the charger was installed in that existing space. Some newer charge areas have them eg this one, also has solar on the cover.

Overview:

Electric Vehicles are a key part of our tomorrow and how we get there. If we can get all the fossil fuel vehicles off our roads, out of our seas and out of our skies, we’ll have a much better environment. This community is where we discuss the various different vehicles and news stories regarding electric transportation.
