We need to adopt alternatives to US cloud services, fast. Governments still aren’t realizing how fast and relatively friction free the US is sliding towards fascism.

I think until Microsoft ensures Canadian data sovereignty takes precedence over US law, they must be prevented from operating in the Canadian marketplace.

I am sadly in the walled garden of apple for all of my life. I was swimming in the cesspool of Google for a long time as well; all but 2 of my Google accounts have been closed, my personal one that all I use it for is signing into Unwatched for youtube and my Eric Smit account that I used to say that I was dead to stop getting some junk mail. I am slowly moving everything out of iCloud and onto a Canadian hosted Nextcloud account. I had given myself a month to stop using apple’s hide my email service and created new email addresses with my .ca domain. My ISP uses an exchange server for their email hosting, I am guessing that when they decided to get out of the email game they just went with the most inexpensive option for legacy users. I have sorted out everything so that all of that everything going there now has its own address.

They have (read the article) and I don’t see our idiots in government abandoning MS products over it any time soon.

I am fairly sure they have tried that line Like here. Almost all of my personal data is off of US servers now, I do a lot to combat spam which also does a lot to keep some of my data off of US ad servers.
