A 16 year old child has died from a fatal shot to the head. The police are using live bullets when they are said to be using rubber bullets. Apparently it’s ok to open fire at a crowd of protestors many of whom are under 18 under the pretence of “protecting public property”.

how fucked up is this? we’ll see the same thing here too soon enough i imagine.

side note: i don’t know that generations translate between countries… is that a thing? do they have big marketing firms that group people into replica generations there too?

Very. For context, in the pro-monarchy protest a few weeks ago, which was, as if not more, destructive — one of the highlights being the protest leader rammed the police and the barricades they had set with his car, he got out of prison in a few weeks by the way — and also incredibly reactionary, only 2 people died, one of whom died due to the protestors burning a house; also the protest mostly consisted of older people but in this protest 20 people have been confirmed dead in a span of about 6 hours most of whom are children under 18. They ordered to open-fire at a crowd containing many children.

The generations thing is mostly a western import through social media, so in the generations conversation usually Gen-Z only is mentioned as a concrete group.

The nepali government should renounce the name “Communist” that they have in their name but don’t adhere to. They have tarnished the ideology’s reputation greatly in this country just by association.
