Today is the Northeast (USA) Wetshavers Meetup, which will be a very small gathering in Albany, NY.
This razor is not at its prime based on how the first pass felt. It was dull and not very efficient. As the shave went on I added more water to the lather (maybe softening up those whiskers just enough?) and things stared to improve. In the end, I got a great shave worthy of being gazed upon by discerning eyes (like anybody actually cares…)
That’s great! I was just in MA about an hour away from Albany. I had planned to go to Ohio for today’s meetup, but family commitments caused that to fall through for me.
We would have loved to have you in our company!

Very nice shave, one of my first straight shaves where I don’t feel like I need touch ups with a safety razor on my neck and chin.
That’s definitely a turning point. Congrats! The rabbit hole gets much deeper beyond this point in your straight razor journey.

Sample part 1 of 3. I got a big scent out of this from the jar to the finished lather. Bright, fruity tobacco. It made a bunch of slick peaks.
