A problem at Amazon’s cloud computing service disrupted internet use around the world. The outage on Monday took down a broad range of online services, including social media, gaming, food delivery, streaming and financial platforms.
Was reading a bit about it earlier and the data centre in West Virginia does all AWS DNS queries globally so it’s a massive single point of failure, as clearly demonstrated!
It’s also the default option when setting up hosting apparently
Signal was down also in Europe, while AWS outage is said to be in the US. This is unfortunate and weird.
