Searching for clues in the Epoch of Reionization, scientists discovered that the universe was quite a bit warmer before the ignition of the first stars.
I’ve read that there was a “fog” of all the hydrogen atoms present during this period which makes it difficult to see much of anything from the early days of the universe. I wonder, could it be simple friction from the collision of these atoms that would account for this minor warming?
