A single open window won’t really suck or blow too much of anything. You really wanna open another window in another room to get a cross breeze blowing shit through. To make it faster, you can open and close a door between the two rooms and it basicslly works like a bellows.

When its open a crack you feel the speed but its less air exchange, just slide it all the way for more volume

I guess the small crack can cool off a person faster if the air flow is high enough to make it feel like a small fan. It would break the boundary layer around the skin and cool the person down, whereas a large opening might cause the air speed to be too low for that?

For cooling the entire room or clearing the air out, you’d want a bigger opening

If you open two windows on opposite sides of the room or, if that’s not an option, open the same window partially on both the top and bottom, and aim a fan out one of the openings (or in, if you want the air blowing on you), it’ll help to increase airflow a lot more than a single window being open, and as a result, air it out much quicker.

Yeah, I mean, it’s not going to have as good of an effect as an air purifier, but it certainly will cycle the air through the room and keep it fresh. I find it gets bad smells out of a room very quickly.
