A Catholic priest who admitted discussing bombing mosques and shooting Black people in the head in neo-Nazi online chatrooms has been sentenced to a 12-month community order.
Father Mark Rowles, 57, used the name “skinheadlad1488” in a chatroom called Aryan Reich Killers where grotesquely offensive messages about Muslims were written.
On Thursday, Rowles, of St John Lloyd Catholic Church in Cardiff, admitted three counts of sending menacing or offensive messages using the Telegram app in May and June 2024. He will complete 150 hours of community service, pay £199 in costs, and be subject to a Criminal Behaviour Order for three years. The Catholic Church in Wales will conduct its own review.
The court was told he described himself in an online profile as a 16-year-old skinhead neo-Nazi and a loner. His profile picture showed a young white man with a face covering, alongside a German flag and the words “right hand path always.”

Its especially weird since Christianity doesn’t really have a racial superiority in its basic scriptures. So outside of times where it’s hijacked by Nazis this priest doesn’t seem to have consumed a lot of Bible. Though that’s usually the case with people who purport violence while hiding behind a religion.
I don’t even understand if scripture does have racial superiority. Either a Supreme Creator created every being/thing or they didn’t. I feel like a bunch of the Nag Hamadi scrolls being excluded probably doesn’t help, for example Timothy denigrating women when women were priestesses and prophetesses all along from the parent religion and so Mary of
MandalaMagdala having her conversations with Jesus excluded. Also cultural context of the eras should be considered. If a Creator is living, one would imagine they also evolve as everything else evolves. In fact, I’ve read that the tetragrammaton more accurately translates as “I am becoming [what I’m becoming], more than ”I am that I am,” but I don’t read Aramaic, nor Hebrew, and I am not Jewish so I’m not permitted to study Torah without converting, so I don’t really know. I’ve tried to find writing of Baal She Tov’s disciples to look further into other things along with this, but that’s s newish endeavor.
