I came here to complain about the fact that it’s single use. Seams like everyone here thinks the same. I don’t care I have to spend an hour tearing it apart to pull out the old battery and put in a new one. I was really interested until I realised it was single use, complete deal breaker for me.
Hopefully someone will find out a way to replace the battery, cause this would genuinely save me so much I have the exact same problem the creator of the ring has.
Single-use? No.
This should be a feature of the smartwatch and probably will be.
No charging: The battery lasts for up to years of average use. After the end of its life, send your ring back to us for recycling.
wth man
with my crappy memory; i bet i would drain that battery in 3 months. lol
“up to years” means maybe 2
He says it explicitly, about 2 years with his personal average use.
Also says if used as a simple button it could last more than a decade. So a major YMMV
This is what it should have been. A simple button that triggers actions on the watch with a single hand.
…yes, that’s what it is. It’s fully programmable
Good chance this won’t even get through EU customs… That thing is terrible for the planet. I like the idea of a audio recording device on my hand, but not like this. Definitely NOT gonna try buying it…
Before the battery runs out, the Pebble app notifies and asks if you’d like to order another ring
gross
It’s a subscription.
it’s it just a voice note recorder or an ai agent?
