i used to work in car sales (i deserve shit for it) and 5 years ago premium brands slowly forced subscription models on the market and effectively cut out dealerships in the sales process. the brand lynk & co is completely based on volvo and geely technology, and you can’t own a lynk & co, you can just subscribe to the car.
of course the marketing terms for these moves were “flexibility” and “everything is covered except fuel”, some people were dumb enough to fall for it and effectively paid 700€ a month to own nothing. (i got double mad because i got no commission for this)
glad i’m out of car sales and regained my soul.
