Welcome all to this very special devblog celebrating the release of Thrive version 1.0! This release marks the completion of the Microbe Stage, the first stage of the 9 planned. The Microbe stage will continue to be supported with balancing and bug fix updates, and volunteers are welcome to continue to make contributions to it. Man, this is a project i check back on every now and then. It was a very enticing concept to me after playing a lot of Spore and wishing it were better. But god, stage 1 of 9 after like 10 years or something? I think their scope might be a bit ambitious
I don’t think stage 2 will take as long, as most of the foundation for it has already been laid. But the other stages will probably take a long time, since they are basically a completely different game.
