I was curious about Lingodeer but I found out it was only free for the first tiny bit so I wouldn’t really be able to learn very much & I’m avoiding Duolingo because of the “AI first” statement.

First three levels of Wanikani are free so I’d recommend going through that. But first and foremost learn hiragana and katakana, before even learning vocab. It makes it so much easier imo. I used tofugu’s PDFs.
